Happy 2015!!!
This month I will be participating in Leslie Saeta's "30 Paintings in 30 Days" challenge.
My theme for the month will be to focus on skies. I love cloud formations, sunrises and sunsets, stormy skies...you name it, but rarely do I focus on them. Although the land or water will be included I plan on making the sky the star too.
Here is my painting for Day 1. I'm starting small (4 x 6) but I hope to do various sizes.
This was done en plein air from my car because it is too cold here in NY to sit outside right now.
Bellport View If you are interested in participating in the challenge it isn't too late, or if you would like to see some of the work by the other participating artists, please follow this link. http://lesliesaeta.blogspot.com |
Yes, I will be posting other work here too during the month.
Wishing you a happy time painting in 2015!
Nice one Joan! Happy to start the new year with one of your gems! Good luck with the challenge! I am sure you will be very, very successful!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Michael
love the moodiness of this! I can just feel the cold. Beautiful start to the month!
ReplyDeleteVery nice painting Joan, great mood. Good luck on the challenge.
ReplyDeleteGreat start for the year and for your challenge. Looking forward to the next 30! Not so bad when you will always be looking up, one day at a time.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with the challenge Joan. Your sky is looking fab already.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael. You know me I pretty much do a painting a day anyway, but I wanted to do a theme.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Dottie! I was wishing I had done the sky with stronger colors.
David, thanks. I haven't seen you in a while.
Michele, lol I guess I will be looking up. Thanks for commenting.
Laura, I love skies and neglect painting them for some reason. Clouds especially are such fun. Thanks.
Great clouds. Its hard to believe this is only 4 x 6.
ReplyDeleteLovely as usual, Joan! Looking forward to the next 29!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You left me a comment on my blog so I checked out your work. My grandparents lived on Long Island...dad's parents in Brookhaven and my mom's in Bellport. Beautiful area! Your paintings remind me of so much that I remember! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteA great start Joan! I love your choice of theme and look forward to the month ahead!
ReplyDeleteMickey, thanks. You should know by now what I can put on a tiny page. lol
ReplyDeleteTina, thank you. I'm ready for the challenge.
Whitney, glad my paintings bring back good memories. I spend a lot of time painting and sketching in Bellport.
Thanks, Wendy. I may be tired of skies by the middle of the month. lol
LOVELY work and sky Joan! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lin!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start on the Challenge :-)
