30 Paintings in 30 Days - Day 3 - Stony Brook Harbor

This is my third painting for Leslie Saeta's challenge.
If you would like to see the work by the other artist you can follow this link.

This was painted at Stony Brook Harbor en plein air from the comfort of my warm car and is 4 x 6.

The other day when I was out east I saw this field out of the corner of my eye and had to stop. I loved how the rows ran all the way to the distant trees. I believe it was part of the nursery next door which would explain the neat rows. I had watched a video of a woman painting that morning and she paints loosely. Her advice was to hold your brush at the very tip wen you paint. I gave it a try.

  2. Pretty landscapes. The first one reminds me of Ringwood. I like the rows too.

  5. Gorgeous colours Joan! How did you find the advice on painting loosely - would you use the technique again? Your paintings certainly came out great so I suspect you would!

I will try holding my brush by the end. It worked for you.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.

  8. How did you find painting with holding the brush by the tip? I will have to try that. Love the colors in the painting of all the rows. :) Thank you for visiting my space and commenting on my fish!
