My sketch club planned on meeting at Flo's in Blue Point on Wednesday. For some reason I ended up being the only one who showed up. I've painted Flo's several times in watercolors, so I decided to do it in ink washes this time.
Mickey - Thanks. This particular ink bleeds, so I sketch and just wet the lines. When it dried I went over the spots where the lines needed to show more.
Joan this just proves that you are an artist no matter what medium you use. I love the details my dear friend. As always you inspire me to keep sketching no matter what. Have a delightful day.
Were you able to do this by just wetting your ink lines, or did you have to actually paint with the ink? Nice effect either way.

ReplyDeleteEven though I am a huge fan of watercolor, I really love these ink washes you do, Joan. They are just exquisite!
ReplyDeleteWere you using the stabilo water soluble pens here. I love sketching like this. This sketch is just my cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherry!
ReplyDeletePolly - I just had some water soluble ink in my Lamy. Thank you.
