Masa Window

I thought that the old buildings here would look good on masa paper with all the wrinkles and textures. I am still experimenting with it, and it is not attached to a stronger paper yet. I have no glue with me. lol
This window was done as a watercolor and ink instead like I usually work.

Views of Venice

I could probably paint something new every day here. There are little views tucked into every corner.

Sketchcrawl in Venice

The Worldwide Sketchcrawl was this past Saturday, and I decided to participate. I started with my French press coffee maker at the apartment. Then I went to Saint Marks Square and sketched one of the arches.
Next I moved over to have a view of the Dodges Palace and some of the tourists. I left out thousands of them, but it was fun to try and get the poses. I walked over to the Realto Bridge to paint and found a flower stall. Just as I was finishing, they started carting away the flowers. Glad I was not too slow.

Of course I had to do a sketch of the Grand Canal and the gondola, which I probably erased about 50 times. lol

Venetian Garden

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of Saint Marks Square is a quiet little garden that is so quiet.

Painting in Burano and Canal Views

On Saturday I went to Burano to paint. The colors there are great!! The second painting is a lace shop...nice but expensive.

Around Venice

There are many streets just like this in Venice, with tables, people, brickwork. I am in my glory.

This was painted in a small park just off San Marco. It is a bit of quiet in all the hustle and bustle.

Some of the nicest views are right across the Grand Canal.
Ciao!

Venetian Street

This is a typical Venetian street, just off the main calle in a busy section of Venice. Step off the regular route and the streets are empty.

Scenes at the Airport

I did a little sketching at the airport before we left NY. I was able to figure out how to resize the photo I took, but not how to crop it yet. lol Ciao!

Post Morrow

This was done on Wednesday evening when I was out with the Patchogue Sketch Club. It was done at Post Morrow which is a preserved piece of land that was deeded to the town of Brookhaven to be kept sort of like a land trust. This was the herb garden. I hope to get back there to paint again.

Carnival

Yes, the carnival has come to town and my friend, Susan, and I went there to sketch/paint yesterday evening. I just love all the colorful booths, but there are so many details. The ladies in the booth were thrilled that I sketched them.
