Amsterdam had a lot of towers as parts of buildings. The main meeting place for the Symposium was Zuiderkerk which had a wonderful spire. It is part of a 17th century Protestant church.
Here is a distant view of it from the canal.
I sketched with a group at the Montelbaanstoren Tower.
A beautiful sketch of the tower, Joan. It looks like a difficult sketch to do. Buildings always give me a problem...but you did a wonderful job. I missed a few of your sketches so I was catching up ...
ReplyDeleteI always have trouble with towers, so having a few to practice on helped.
DeleteNice job on both of the towers Joan - tough subject!!
ReplyDeleteLovely towers, Joan! As you probably noticed, I have a big thing for towers too, and Amsterdam sure had more than its share!
ReplyDeleteWow, you were an architect in your other life.
