Our next stop was Kinsale which is located in County Cork. It had a nice harbor area and very colorful buildings. I liked it a lot.
There was a square with these really different colored buildings. The orange one was Stone Mad which was a store that sold jewelry and jeweled items of all kinds.
Across from it was the Kinsale Bookstor. Don't you just love a purple building?
And across in the other direction was the Milk Pail Cafe.
The waiter there kept coming out while I was painting these last two buildings and told me I was there for so long he was bringing me some tea.
Delightful sketches and stories, Joan... I bet that tea was especially enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteHow cool!! Oh do make these into a book for yourself to always treasure!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tina and Sherry. Some of the smaller sketches are already in a sketchbook and the others are in a presentation book. I'm thinking of doing a printed book of some of them.
ReplyDeleteJoan - wonderful sketches...the bookstore would have been a hot spot for me...might not have got much painting done though because I would have spent time browsing. Sounds like you met wonderful thoughtful people along the way. Thanks for sharing the jewelry store too...the colors of the buildings takes my breath away. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - Thanks. The people in Ireland were so sweet. That orange store just awed me.
ReplyDeleteAw, what a nice waiter. you've captured the lovely, quaint buildings of Ireland with all their colors.
