Last week I headed over to Robert Moses State Park for the first time since Hurricane Sandy. They replaced the roadway that had been washed away, but a great deal of the dunes are gone. Now instead of just seeing the top of the lighthouse you can see the entire thing from the beach, so I sat in my comfy beach chair and painted.
You certainly keep your brushes busy Joan. Really like the simplicity of the composition and the complexity of the grasses. Nice contrast and lovely work.
ReplyDeleteI imagine over time those dunes will be rebuilt by Nature. Joan, how on earth do you manage so much art? And I love that you do it all plein aire. I wish I had that much get up and go! Another lovely piece in this one.
ReplyDeleteLaura - Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteSherry - You've got to remember I'm retired and have lots of spare time. Thank you!
Joan,
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back in the US. Love your local watercolor scenes!
You a such a worker!
Nice!
Michael
I'm so glad you went back to see the Lighthouse, Joan! You painted a beautiful watercolor!!! Wonderful sky as well!!!
ReplyDeleteMichael - I've been back a while. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHilda - They are working on the outside of the lighthouse. Apparently the work was scheduled before Sandy. Thanks.
