Daffodils at the Arboretum

The other day we had weather that was mild enough that I ventured out of my mobile studio to sketch at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. I knew the daffodils were in bloom there so I headed over. I did need my jacket, scarf, hat, and gloves but it was so great to be out sketching! First I sketched the view across the great lawn.

Then I focused on doing daffodils that were closer to me.

Here's how the whole page looks.

  1. Joan you certainly selected a favorite flower of mine. Your sketches are truly lovely and oh so cheerful. Hope you are having a delightful weekend. Hugs!

    1. Thanks, Debbie. I have been having a good time searching for things in bloom to sketch. The weather has been pretty good, although it is still a bit chilly some days to sit outside. Glad I have my car. Have a wonderful week!

  2. These are such happy sketches. Nice to be out. Someone suggested to me that I get a bumper sticker that says “Mobile Plein Air Studio” or “Mobile Studio” or something like that and I said that it was definitely a Joan thing. You should do it!

    1. LOL That could be fun, except Jerry doesn't like having bumper stickers on the car...maybe a sign to put in the window. Yes, it was nice to actually be sitting out in the fresh air.
