For Day 29 of Inktober I did a sketch of pumpkins spilling out of their baskets. This was done at Lenny Bruno Farms in Manorville.

I also liked this red barn that I could see across the field, so I sat there and did a painting of it. I only had 8 x 10 watercolor paper with me and I knew that this called for a panoramic size so I taped off part of the paper. This is about 4 x 10.
Must have been hard resisting orange on those pumpkins! ;-) Your taped off panorama a great solution! I should do that more often... I always feel compelled to fill the whole page, but your idea is much better if the composition demands that shape.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tina. Taping off part of the page works well. This painting wouldn't have worked as an 8 x 10.
DeletePumpkins, pumpkins and a favorite, “red barn”. I always look forward to my smile when visiting here.
ReplyDeleteJo, thanks so much. I like red barns too and am happy when I can find one.
DeleteWow - that 4 x 10 is fabulous! Great detail and the tractor is super. I like the tiny pumpkins rolling out of the barrel- too cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val. There were quite a few things there to sketch. I was happy.
