Sketching and Knitting

At the NYC Urban Sketchers holiday party each of the sketchers were given a long sheet of watercolor paper to sketch something that they saw at the party. All the pages were collected and will be assembled into a book of sketches from our day. I sketched some of the people in front of me...Julie who was sketching, Susan (Mark's wife) who is not a sketcher but is a knitter, another sketcher, and Mark who was talking to Patricia. I was hoping to do the city skyline too but the sun was setting too quickly to do more than a simple wash and a suggestion of buildings for the background.

  3. The skyline is perfect. It is there as a backdrop. The figures are so great. Applause!

    1. Jo, thanks. I guess if I had done a detailed background it would have taken away from the figures too much.
