Sayville Porch

You may wonder why I sketch in Sayville so often. The answer is easy...it is a friendly, welcoming town. When I drive through looking for a house to sketch there are so many homes that have front porches with seating areas where you can look out and see people passing by...and there are always people passing by.

Here is another one just like I described.

  1. This is charming Joan. We don't have a lot of porches or verandas in our area where you can sit and watch the world go by - a real loss to my thinking.

    1. Thanks, Val. Growing up we sat on the front stoop and watched everyone go by. I think it is a nice way to get to know the people in your community.

  2. Joan I am attracted to porches as well. This looks like a charming summer scene. Hope you are staying safe in the storm that is hitting your area. Hugs!

    1. Thank you, Debbie. We probably have over a foot of snow right now. I don't have to go out and shovel and my car is in a garage. I can stay inside and keep fairly warm. I hope you made out OK with the storm.

  3. Charming is a great word for this. I’ve always loved the porch. At the ranch we would sleep out on the porch. Love the quiet noise at night.
