I like driving around and seeing what is down around the corner of places I've been. This was in Patchogue around the corner from a marina I've gone to several times. I peeked down this street and saw some rusty structures. I headed straight there. There was a bit of all kinds of stuff around, a washing machine, inflatable rubber boats usually found on a ferry and assorted other objects. Apparently it is an active business because vehicles kept coming in and out while I sat in my car sketching.
I was fun to explore aall the difference pieces in this. Love the colors too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie. There was a lot there. lol
DeleteI love how you do not discriminate between lovely houses and junky messes -- they are all sketchable! ;-)

I like drawing all sorts of things and places like this are fun and quirky. Thanks.
DeleteI always love the pics you do of the boat yard. Just so much and so many stores. Is that a washer/dryer sitting there? Hope you will get though this next storm. We had the really rough weather at this end last night, but appears even though there were thoughts of tornados that we came though ok. At least for a while I have two properties to worry about with the weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nelvia, Yes, that is a washing machine...don't know if there was a dryer around but possibly since there seemed to be everything else. They are forecasting some snow for us on Wed, and things have already been cancelled.
DeleteI love the building...beautiful barn color .... My eyes are taking me all over the drawing with all the details you put in..
ReplyDeleteThank you, Hilda. There was so much in that yard.
DeleteYou called it Boatyard so I was expecting boats! Love the rusty buildings and the washing machine. I guess it is a scrap yard where people can go for parts - always a popular type of place. Well done Joan!
ReplyDeleteLOL I think there were boats beyond the buildings. Mostly it seemed like all kinds of things that might have come off of a boat or been used to haul a boat. I'm not sure why the washing machine was there. Thanks!
DeleteI like how the rusty tank container turned out! Very nice.
