For Day 12 of the "30 Paintings in 30 Days" I give you Chester. He is my niece, Jaime's dog and is now about 16 years old. He's slowed down quite a bit since I met him. This is 5 x 7 done with a watercolor base followed by watercolor pencils and touches of black ink.

Last night my sketch group met at a local library. We all brought along something to create a still life for our sketching. There were various setups around the tables. Typical of me, I brough things related to food. lol This was my setup from the items I brought with me.
This is terrific. I really like how these pencils work, gives you texture. Nothing wrong with what you bought, I see Italian in your future!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! I can't think of a better way to get the texture in the fur. I think in a past life I must have lived in Italy. lol
DeleteSuper piece of the dog Joan - I am sure your niece will love it. I like your still-life too - it actually makes sense -(so many don't with fruits or books or flowers all mixed together)
ReplyDeleteVal, thanks so much. I know she is very attached to Chester, so I'm sure she will love it. I brought along all the components of the still life because I thought they would make a nice setup. I had an apron too, but didn't use that.
DeleteThese are great. Love the dog. He has so much character.
ReplyDeleteThe still life is wonderful. I always find onion and garlic so hard to paint. You make it look easy.
