Today I went into Sayville and sketched the entrance to the small park that is by the beach there. I like the one stone pillar and the fence. I've sketched it before but not with my twig and Chinese ink.

I did another of Bellport's scarecrows. I didn't count this one for Inktober. I think she was a fairy.
Love this scarecrow Joan! And of course, the entrance to the park is wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilda!
DeleteI really feel you have something special going on with the ink and twig. Beautiful effect. The scarecrow is fun. I have not seen one around here yet.
ReplyDeleteI guess they have been too busy with the Day of the Dead celebrations.
I loved the story about painting the gas pumps in the car and the pumpkin patch is a beautiful painting.
Julie, thank you so much. I smiled when you said the people there have been too busy with the Day of the Dead celebrations rather than scarecrows. This is the first year I've noticed any celebrating of the Day of the Dead here...but it is apparently getting more popular.
DeleteOh Joan your scarecrow looks wonderful. As for your ink sketch of the park entrance - it is awesome. Think like Julie your sketches with the ink are extra special. Have a delightful day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. I was glad I had the opportunity to get so much practice in doing the twig sketches. This was the perfect time for it.
DeleteA charming sketch for a lovely entrance to a park - nicely done with the twig and ink! The 'scarecrow' is lovely - not too much scary about it tho - lol
ReplyDeleteVal, thank you. I don't think too many of the scarecrows I saw were scary at all. lol Most of them were cute or funny.
DeleteGreat work! The entrance is lovely and the scarecrow is so cute.
