Six Corners, Westhampton

In my younger days I spent a lot of time out in the Hamptons in the summer. Each town has its own unique charm. This is a business at Six Corners in Westhampton where believe it or not, six roads actually do converge at a circle. I liked the style of this building...but I think it would make a better house than a business. Who knows, maybe there is an apartment upstairs and you can sit in that little bay window and look out. This is 5 x 7.

  1. Hi Joan, I miss seeing your work on face book, for some reason I no longer get your post. I am getting a little tired of posting fb and decided to come back to blogging. Love your work as usual, this painting is lovely. I will return often to enjoy your post and looking forward when we can go out and do some plein air painting.

  3. A quite unusual building and another delightful sketch! I really like the way you've done the shadows here to give it form. Lovely colours in this too!

  7. Oh this is just so beautiful, Joan! I agree with you on this type of architecture. We don't see new builds with this character and charm anymore.

  11. Yes, it is charming. The first word that came to mind was CLEAN. Your lines, shadow, sky, paint, all well defined, beautifully done!
