The Inktober days are flying by...just about a week to go. I guess I haven't minded doing ink since our trees still have so little autumn color that I don't feel like I'm missing anything. lol This was done in Islip for my Day 24 of Inktober 2018. This building was by one of the canals and the yard was chock full of assorted junk...fun for sketching.
#inktober, #inktober2018
A bit of history on paper. Love all the items and the buildings. Super!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteI love how you painted the car black....the painting pops!! This is really beautiful, Joan!!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Hilda.
Deletewow - lots of subject matter for you with this scene! A nice job Joan
ReplyDeleteThanks. I like fun spots like this.
DeleteJoan these sketches of yours always are wonderfully detailed. The black car against the gray tones of the building really makes this ink drawing come alive. Hope you are going to see some color soon - we are having the same problem here. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, thanks so much. Now that it has gotten cooler maybe the trees will start changing color.
DeleteHere I go hunting again for sprinkles of details in your sketch. And the more I look the more I imagine how fun to sketch that place is.
ReplyDeleteI always love these because there is so much to look at in these sketches, you always capture so many details. No color there either? We were so dry that I think our leaves are just going yellow/brown/fall off. So many are down on the ground now, only the dogwoods have a bit of red. I have a silver maple in the front and I don't think it is going to get any color, sigh!!
ReplyDeleteGreat one, Joan! Artistically, the black car gives it ooomph, but its the details I love.
