There is always some kind of activity going on down by the Sayville dock with the boars, repairs, fishermen, birds, and assorted marine materials. That's why I go down there to sketch so often. This was done in my Stillman & Birn Beta Sketchbook and is about 5 x 7.
What a great sketch in your Stillman :-)
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I dated a man who lived on his sailboat. Since even before then, I wished I could live on a houseboat. Still do! There just wouldn't be room for all the things I couldn't live without though! LOL I love this painting, Joan, and it resurrects those old desires to live on a boat. I can hear those gulls...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann!
ReplyDeleteSherry, I agree that living on a boat would be very limiting...but probably very freeing. lol Thanks.
What a busy dock...that blue in the boat really draws my eye into this piece. You are so good with perspective. It does look like it might be a smidgeon cold there though! Hope it warms up soon. Have a delightful day.
ReplyDeleteGetting in some boat practice, I see! Nice sketch!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie. A little warmth would be nice. lol
ReplyDeleteMickey - I need all the practice I can get. Thanks.
