Fantastic Gardens

The other day I headed over to Fantastic Gardens, a local nursery in Patchogue. They always have a nice collection of plants and flowers. I've sketched there before but I made sure to ask if it was OK. I don't want to be in the way and interfere with the business going on. Of course they didn't mind. This is one of the greenhouses and "check-out" building, so everyone that was there passed by and commented on my sketch. They were amazed that I had so much done in the short time they were shopping.
This was done in my Stillman & Birn Beta Sketchbook. I like that I was able to let it grow a bit across to the other page.

  1. Very colorful Joan! Very well done also, especially considering all the distraction from the shoppers, something I go through when I sketch at car shows.

  8. Dear Joan - what a quaint looking garden shop...I am afraid I might have been more interested in shopping for flowers than painting them if I had been there (LOL) - sometimes the gardener in me wins over the artist! Glad it doesn't work that way for you...just lovely friend.
