Ronkonkoma Train Station

I needed something to sketch for the last day of the "Close to Home" theme on the blog "Paper, Paint, Pencils, and Pens" so I took a ride over to the Ronkonkoma Train Station. This is usually where I take the train into Manhattan. It is a modern station, not a cute, quaint station.

If you haven't visited the new blog click on the link at the top right on my blog and see what we are sketching. The new theme will be "Kitchens."

  1. It may be modern Joan but it's got a lot of interesting shapes and angles, looks like a fun challenge. In 50 years they'll look at this station and call it "quaint" if it's still around.

  2. I love these close to home sketches, a great idea. I have been thinking of doing something similar. The antique store sketch is lovely! I will follow your link and look forward to the kitchen paintings! I wish you a nice Sunday Joan!

  4. Just had a peek at the new blog. Great work by everyone. Wish I had more time to join in. Lovely work on the station. Just wondering how long these take you now. You must do them so quickly with all your experience.

  7. Joan - you are so talented...your car is terrific...I think they would be so hard to sketch but you do it so well. I am going over to see the other blog...I am sure it will be wonderful too. Have a great day.
