Cactus Garden

The other day I visited the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay. In the main greenhouse they have a room filled with cactus and succulents. Since it was a quiet day I was able to sit on my sketching chair and not be in the way of other visitors. This is about 5 x 7.

  1. What a beautiful desert plant grouping! Love all the colors you've incorporated and of course, that adds life to any piece!

  3. A great sketch Joan with beautiful colours! I was actually considering painting a cactus today but changed my mind to an outdoor scene. Maybe for my next one - you have inspired me!
