Field with Sunflowers

Yesterday my friend, Sue and I drove out to the north fork of Long Island.
Along the way we passed a field with groups of sunflowers.
We pulled over at the nearby farm stand and asked it we could go inside the fence and paint the field.
Luckily they said yes! This is part of the Bayview Farm Market and Farm in Aquebogue.

  1. Yes lucky they said yes - this is a lovely scene you have painted Joan

  2. Such a beautiful spot, Joan. Glad you found it! It is a lovely piece and a beautiful time of year to have found it.

  3. Lovely painting of a lovely spot. I love the way they turn around following the sun

  4. Carol - Thanks so much!

    Lorraine - Thanks!

Sherry - Thanks. You never know what you will find out there. It changes all the time.

Polly - Thank you. You have to make sure you're on the right side to paint them. lol

  5. ...lovely sunflowers, there are acre of these near us that have been flattened in the storms, we were lucky enuf to see them just a couple of days before. Not sure they'll recover, sweet watercolour... :-)
