Yesterday my friend, Susan and I went down near the bay to paint. That sounds like a great thing, but it was misty, foggy and downright damp! lol It seemed like my paper would never dry. I ended up finishing this at home because there was so much moisture in the air that I couldn't get any dark colors for the shadows. lol I'm pretty happy with the way it finally came out.
I'm behind on keeping up with your blog. Love the rowboat - it looks like you nailed the perspective. And I love the lavender fields - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou should be happy! This is lovely! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. As soon as I saw this painting I thought "it's much lighter than Joan usually works". And then I read the post and realized what had happened. It was horrible yesterday. Like walking through soup! Your boat came out great, even if it wouldn't dry in plein air!
ReplyDeleteAnd here I've been complaining that it's so hot, my paper dries instantly! Nice sketch, Joan!
ReplyDeleteOh so wonderful, Joan! I love boats and water scenes!!
ReplyDeleteMickey - Glad you are catching up. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWendy - Thanks so much.
Carol - Yes, the weather has been lousy. I sat in the car to paint yesterday and still got wet. lol Thanks
Tina - Thanks. Nothing is drying here.
Sherry - Thank you!
This is so so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSuper picture Joan. Boats are not easy to get right from this sort of angle, you have every right to be happy with it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brinda and Kevin!
