It is hard to believe that one week of the "30 Paintings in 30 Days" challenge is already over. For today's painting I am posting "Ready to Open" which was painted from one of my reference photos of rhodies taken at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale. This is 5 x 5 inches.

This sketch was done of the Steiger Boat Builders in Bellport. Their sign says they are the #1 boat builders in New York, but I can't swear to that. Don't you just love the fish on the building?
Two beautiful paintings Joan! Yes, I do love the fish. It reminds me of a fishing tackle shop that used to be in our neighbourhood that had a big fish sticking out like that. I always meant to get a photo of it but never got around to it. Of course one day I drove past and it was gone and being remodelled into a café. Good on you for recording all your local buildings!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I hope you don't mind me mentioning that this painting is your ninth - I think you had two day 6's. :)
You do your flowers so beautifully!
Thanks for noticing, Wendy. I thought I was off counting when I post this morning. LOL Thanks for your support and comments.
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying your watercolors of flowers. So sensitve and lovely!
ReplyDeleteDear Joan - each of your flowers is gorgeous - took time to go back and see them...loved the landscape facing Fire Island. What a beautiful peaceful scene. Hope you have a great week-end. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Diana!
