Maria

Last Tuesday night I went to the Wet Paints Studio Group sketch night in Sayville. Twice a month they have a model pose for the artists that show up. Maria was our model. The model poses for 20 minutes and then takes a 10 minute break. That is repeated 3 times. Some people do 3 different sketches, but since she is in the same pose I continued working on the same painting. This is 5 x 7.

  2. The shading on her face is so delicate, it looks almost like pastels! I'm amazed that you can do this with watercolor, Joan -- you're a master!

  6. Joan - this is so good. I love the fact that the color tones in the skin as well as the dress were rose colors...her dark hair color couldn't be more perfect. Thank you for sharing as always.
