Even though school has started it still feels like summer here. Yesterday I went to the beach and painted from the memorial that was built at Smith Point Beach to honor those who were lost when TWA flight 800 crashed off the coast of Long Island. The memorial garden is gorgeous and overlooks the dunes and the water.
A lovely peaceful scene
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love that it seems to be focused mostly about the path and plants rather than the beach itself. We are heading on vacation tomorrow, and I've dusted off my watercolors for the first time in nearly ten years. Looking forward to doing more than taking photos this time!
ReplyDeleteLove this one Joan! (Also love all your other latest works!)
ReplyDeleteFun also to see the photos of your painting pals!
Take care and thanks for posting so much wonderful art!
Michael
I sure love the stone path and surrounding gardens. What a beauty!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorraine, April, Michael and Sherry! I'm just glad I have so many choices of subjects.
ReplyDeleteLove that!
ReplyDeleteJoan - your sky looks lovely in this beach painting. Such a great sketch. Hope you have a beautiful week-end.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Brinda and Debbie!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Joan. How wonderful they created a memorial garden in honor of the people of the TWA Flight 800 crash. I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing your view of it.
