Meadow Croft Estate in Sayville is a nicely preserved historic estate in Sayville that was owned by John Ellis Roosevelt and his family. They were related to Teddy Roosevelt. They have a small garden with a birdbath that I like to visit and sketch.
Bird baths are fun. The house where our great grands stayed had sort of a fountain that spilled into the swimming pool. The birds were using it for a bird bath. Fun to watch.
I have a couple of bird baths and one is right outside the picture window in my kitchen. Watching the birds splashing about is wonderful. This is a great painting.
