Brussel Sprouts

Somehow the stalk of Brussel sprouts I bought before Thanksgiving was forgotten and I didn't post it. Sketching this wasn't easy because it is so long. I really needed a panoramic sketchbook to fit this without resorting to using two pages in one of my sketchbooks. Instead I did it in an 11 x 14 sketchbook where I do several sketches on one page. I just marked out an area that looked like it was big enough to fit this.

  1. Very nice calligraphy! And what a convincingly painted long stalk of Brussel Sprouts!

    1. Thanks, Mel. Since I can only find them at this time of the year I figured I had to do it.

    1. Val, thanks. Some day I'm going to find a place where they are actually growing in the field. I'd like to see that.

  3. Brussel Sprouts in a field would be great to see. Hadn’t ever thought about that. Great sketch and finding a place to do it!

  4. Joan I really like the panoramic format. Brussels sprouts make a great subject. Hope you enjoyed them after they were sketched.
