I've been doing a lot of the #VirtualSketch sketches in a Canson sketchbook that is not very watercolor friendly. The pages sort of take color but not as well as watercolor paper. Anyway I used it for this sketch of a location along the street in Bruges, Belgium. When it was done it was one of those sketches that I wish I had used better paper for.
A very common problem, right? You may like to redo another version on a better paper but that’s a different story. Regardless, I enjoy seeing your post.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to keep all these sketches in the same sketchbook. lol I guess that isn't always a good idea. Thanks.
DeleteYep, beautiful sketch. Those Canson sketchbooks say al media, but not great for watercolor. My experience, too. You have done a couple with bicycles in them, this is super!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo. Because these are usually pretty quick sketches sometimes of odd places I just don't think they are "good paper" worthy. lol
DeleteWow! this is a beautiful sketch, Joan. The colors are amazing, the bike is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Joan and I really understand the wish to have used better paper. It is especially frustrating when the painting turns out so well.
ReplyDeleteVal, thanks so much. I'm consoling myself with the fact that it is a quick sketch.
