Washington Square Arch

Last weekend the NYC Urban Sketchers met in Washington Square Park to sketch. There was a lot of activity and scenes to sketch. I had to do the arch and the view in front of it and through it. Sadly it was a dreary day...with light showers once in a while.

  1. You always prove suggestion is as good as details. This turned out so well.

  2. I like this, too. I like the way you did the fountain.

    1. Thanks, Jo. I don't get to paint fountains much.

  3. A super piece Joan - in spite of the dreary day! I like the way you include even the light posts when so many artists (me included - lol) would leave them out.

    1. Val, thanks. The light posts are such a big part of NYC scenes.

  4. Hi Joan! I was wondering if you allow use of your art for non-commercial projects. Specifically I would like to use your watercolor of the Arch from this post: http://nyc.urbansketchers.org/2015/10/sketching-in-washington-square-park.html on my wedding website! Couldn't figure out how to email you through either of these sites. Thank you!
