Shaded Archway

On Saturday I went to the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay. One of the spots I decided to sketch was the arches in front of the mansion. The shadows really caught my attention.
This is 5 x 7.

  3. Love the use of blue for your shadows; lends to coolness which shade and shadows usually give. Lovely mansion, Joan!

  4. Great atmosphere here Joan, shady and quiet with just a hint of mystery. The brown river sketch is also a delight. I love the bridge in Frank Melville park with it's subtle reflections and the greens are so well excecuted. Top job!!
