All along the streets here on Long Island you see piles of tree branches and assorted things that were left behind or damaged by Hurricane Sandy...like this huge tree. I guess they will need some kind of crane to pick up the pieces of this tree. This is about 4 x 6.
Wonderful painting of the damage left by Sandy. Were you affected very much?? I hope everything came through ok. I had many friends that were dealing with a lot of damage!
ReplyDeleteYes...so many trees down, Joan!! This painting is spectacular...so realistic when I zoomed on it!!...one of your best!
ReplyDeleteAlways bothers me to see downed or damaged trees. Out here, you see many near power lines that have been amputated in odd ways to make way for the wires. Hope the clean up is well under way and at least that everyone has power again.
ReplyDeleteJoan,
ReplyDeleteGreat painting of the results of a very tragic event.
Hope all are well in NY and NJ real soon!
Our hearts go out to everyone affected.
Hang in there.
Michael
Dear Joan - lovely sketch. So sorry for the loss of such beauty. Hope you will have a blessed Thanksgiving in spite of the terrible storm damage.
ReplyDeleteDesiree - Thanks. We personally were very lucky, but I have many friends who lost so much and are going through so much to try to get back to normal.
ReplyDeleteHilda - Thank you. As you know the trees are the least of the problems.
Sherry - Thanks. There are still many people without power and some have really lost just about everything.
Michael - Thanks so much!
Debby - Thank you.
This is such a familiar scene, Joan -- following Hugo, Denis, Fran and the rest. You did a super super job on it! Some folks in Charleston carved theirs ...art out of misery ...
