Holbrook House

We had a lot of very cold days recently so if I went out I was painting indoors or from my mobile studio. This house is directly across the street from my church, Good Shepherd. I sat in the driveway of the grounds pulled all the way over so I was out of the way. I'm always attracted to the trellis in front of the house.

Bellport Corner House

This house on the corner in Bellport must have wonderful views of the water. It is set back up a hill with no houses in front of it to obstruct the view of the water. I can imagine being inside that front room and using it as an art studio.

Red, White, and Blue

I've sketched this house in Bellport several times in the past. It is positioned well and this day the shadow on the fence looked so nice.

Quiet Street

This was painted near Old Broadway in Sayville...a pretty quiet end of the street.

Behind the Hedges

Houses are so much fun to sketch as long as there aren't too many odd angles. This one cooperated nicely.

Bellport House

I always enjoy painting the houses I find in Bellport. This sketch is in the Arteza sketchbook and I'm almost done filling the pages. It will be hard to give it away to the library.

White House in Sayville

I have passed this house in Sayville so many times. It is almost directly opposite the library there. Now that the flowers are in bloom I knew I had to make a stop, but I kept forgetting. Finally I stopped and found a nice shady tree right by a fire hydrant which meant I could sit there and nobody would park in front of me blocking my view.

House by the Marina

There is a small marina in Sayville where I often sketch the boats and the view of the water. This time I focused on one of the big houses facing the marina. If this was my house I would have made sure the design had huge windows to watch the sunrise each morning.

House and Porch

I love houses with porches where you can sit in the shade and watch the world go by.
