Blowing in the Wind - Part 3

 Like I said, I had a hard time deciding which windmills to sketch.

This one is in East Hampton and I've passed it many times..

This is a German windmill, located somewhere near the North Sea.

I did the six windmills on one sheet of paper. A friend on FB said they look like windmill trading cards. lol

Bridgehampton Street View

On Thursday I had to drop off paintings in East Hampton. On the way home I stopped a few times. One of those times I sketched the street view by Pierre's in Bridgehampton.

Last Friday my friend had to go out to East Hampton to drop off something for a client and take care of a few things. I went along for company and to help her get the end tables into the client's house. I must say that mostly I closed and opened doors while she carried the pieces. When she was finished we went to Citarella on Main Street in East Hampton to have lunch and do a quick sketch. I had enough time to sketch this and just began adding color when we had to leave, so the rest of it I finished at home.

Back in my post for Nov. 18, 2014 I had posted a photo of myself doing my presentation for the Wet Paints Studio Group in Sayville. I spoke about art and my life and brought along examples of my drawings, collage, paintings, and sketchbooks. I promised all of you that when the video of my presentation was available I would post a link to it. Well...it has been on youTube for a while, but I had been posting so much here that I didn't want to overwhelm the pages. Now that things are a little quieter I am posting it. It is a little over an hour long so if you want to watch it you may want to do it in more than one sitting. lol Enjoy and tell me what you think.

East End Water Sketches

My last two sketches on Saturday have to do with water, so I'll post them together.

After the farm stand we drove out to Montauk, which is the furthest point east on the south fork of Long Island. We had lunch and then headed toward the harbor. We ended up on Star Island with a wonderful view of the boats and water...and we could paint from the car which was necessary because it was still drizzling. This is the view of the fishing trawler we had in front of us.  This is 5 x 7.

On the way we had passed a sign about a shark fishing tournament. Susan asked a police officer where it was taking place and we drove about the length of two blocks to the Star Island Yacht Club. By this time the sun finally came out and we could paint outside of the car. There was quite a crowd of people waiting for the sharks to be brought in, but we couldn't stay long because we had to be back in East Hampton by 5:30. There was a big replica of a shark hanging by the dock, so we had to settle for sketching that. I included a few people in the sketch too...but there were many more than I was able to do in a short time. Susan wants to go back another time and sketch some of the big fish that are brought in, so you may see them at another time. lol

East End Flower Field

On Saturday my friend, Susan and I had to be in East Hampton to pick up paintings, so we planned to do some painting first. The weather was not cooperating...as soon as we got to our first location it started to drizzle. So we sat in the car to paint at a local farm. I liked the flowers in bloom. They told us that if we came back in about 2 weeks the sunflowers should be in bloom. 

White Door

Last week I went out to East Hampton to paint. We went to Mulford Farm which is a historic farm with a few houses and barns. I didn't find the barns too interesting but I loved this door on one of the houses. This is 8 x 10.
