I was searching for autumn colors but didn't have much success the other day. Instead I found a field near the marina in Brookhaven. I was there for over an hour sitting and working from my car. Finally a woman came over and asked it there was a reason I was sitting there for so long, so I showed her the small painting. She smiled and said to stay as long as I needed.
This is lovely, Joan. You captured such a beautiful color harmony. I especially like the color of the tree trunks NOT being a chestnut brown!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the Bond Street paintings too.
Thanks so much, Julie! Glad you caught up on the others too.
DeleteLovely! Glad you found some color. No one ever asks me what I'm doing when I sketch from my mobile studio. I'm glad I don't raise suspicion. ;-)

Thanks. The people who come over aren't usually the homeowners. lol
DeleteI love how you vary your strokes to create depth and interest, it is a beautiful painting! Kind of funny to think someone would find you suspicious.
ReplyDeleteDear Joan - it looks like you discovered some beautiful fall colors. I am sure as much as you sketch out and about you get approached often. Keep safe friend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, thank you. I've had people come over to the car before and ask if I am having car problems.
DeleteThis is lovely Joan. Also, I am glad in this day and age that someone finally asked you why you were sitting there so long - nice to see that some people are aware of what is going on around them!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I don't mind them asking since it is their neighborhood.
DeleteGreat sketch and story. I got asked a couple of times in NM. I don’t usually sketch in the car here.
