Fairy Model

My sketch group had a model dressed as a fairy this week. She did an assortment of 2 and 5 minute poses for a warm up, then a 10 minute followed by 2 20 minute poses in the same position so we would have one longer pose.

This was the longest pose for a total of 40 minutes.

Matt the Model

A few times a year the Patchogue Arts Council pays for a model for the Patchogue Sketch Club. The last few times we've had Hector model for us. This time we had a new (to us) model named Matt. He was a definite surprise and modeled as stripped down as you can get and still be PG. He has a really interesting face with a long curling mustache, a wild head of hair, and a solid body. I usually sketch small but found I had to sketch Matt the entire length of my paper. He posed in a variety of positions for different intervals. I hope he is invited back again.

Lefty Lucy Channels Stevie Nicks

Lefty Lucy was back this week channeling a bit of Stevie Nicks.  Her bright red gown and hat really made her stand up. It wasn't until the last sketch that she was close enough for me to notice that the veil on her hat had spider webs...so fun!!

These were all 5 minute poses.

Here are a few 10 minute poses.

The finale is usually a 20 minute portrait.

Lefty Lucy Night

Tuesday was "Let's Art With Lefty Lucy." This week she was dressed like a Muppet named Janet. I didn't remember her, so I checked and Janet played guitar in the Muppet band. There wasn't much of a resemblance except for the hat and the ropelike yellow hair. It was fun to sketch her anyway.

Figure Drawing

There was no figure sketching with Lefty Lucy on Tuesday, but on Wednesday the Patchogue Sketch Club met on Zoom to do figure drawing. We didn't have a model. Instead Mark shared several photos he had found of models posing online. Everyone really seemed to get into it and enjoy it. The first photo was probably the hardest because of all the shadows. I worked in pencil for the first two and then water-soluble ink for the third one.

Glamour Girl

Last night Lefty Lucy posed again for "Let's Art with Lefty Lucy." She posed as more of a glamour girl in a pretty gown and a wrap.

The top two sketches were 10 minutes each. The bottom right sketch was a 20 minute pose.

This was also a 10 minute pose.

Ho-Ho-Holidays!

Last night was "Let's Art! with Lefty Lucy." She was very much dressed for Christmas last night and had Christmas music playing while she posed. She is always such fun.

Here are the longer poses...10 minutes on top and 20 minutes on the bottom sketch.

I don't usually show the quick sketches. The top row are 1 minute poses. I never even got to her legs for those. The middle group are two minute poses and the bottom row is one 5 minute pose and two 10 minute poses.

Lefty Lucy X 2

Somehow I forgot to post my Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine sketches from last week. The days are passing by so quickly. Anyway here are the sketches from last week as well as this week.

First the sketches from last week.

This was the final 20 minute pose.

Here is one of the 10 minute poses.

The top row of poses were 5 minutes and the bottom ones were 10 minutes.

Here are this Tuesday's sketches. This was the final sketch of the night (20 min).

Some of these are 5 minute poses and the bottom row are 10 minutes.

Lefty Lucy on Tuesday

Tuesday nights mean Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine. She has been posing now for months and unless you want to tip her (which I always do through PayPal) the sessions are free. I love to see what she will be wearing each week. This week she said she was a Space Queen...okay...

The top row were 5 minute sketches. The one with added color was a 10 minute sketch.

The top two sketches were 10 minute sketches and the last one was 20 minutes.

Tuesday with Lefty Lucy

Today is officially the start of Inktober, but since I am a bit behind in posting you are getting to see Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine instead.

These were 5 minute sketches.

I think these were 10 minute sketches.

Here is the final sketch which was 20 minutes.

I don't usually post the quick sketches, but I did them all on one page. The top ones were 1 minute and the bottom ones were 2 minutes. As you can see, I don't always get the entire figure done. lol

Lefty Lucy's Celestial Poses

Last night I had time to join the Zoom meeting figure drawing event by Lefty Lucy in Quarantine. Her costume was "Celestial" themed. Dressed in a pretty black wig and sexy gown she did a number of 1, 2, 5, 10 and finally a 20 minute pose. I am posting some of the sketches. I was a bit rusty with the quick ones since I missed the last two Tuesday nights.
