Christmasy Lefty Lucy

Last night Lefty Lucy posed in her holiday outfit. I needed a lot of red. lol

The top sketches were 5 minutes and the bottom sketches were 10 minutes.

The left sketch was 10 minutes and the right one was 20 minutes.

We are under a blizzard watch. It has only been snowing for about 1 1/2 hrs and we already have more than an inch of the white stuff. The forecast is that it will continue until tomorrow so we will see how much we actually get...stay tuned.

Lefty Lucy X 2

Somehow I forgot to post my Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine sketches from last week. The days are passing by so quickly. Anyway here are the sketches from last week as well as this week.

First the sketches from last week.

This was the final 20 minute pose.

Here is one of the 10 minute poses.

The top row of poses were 5 minutes and the bottom ones were 10 minutes.

Here are this Tuesday's sketches. This was the final sketch of the night (20 min).

Some of these are 5 minute poses and the bottom row are 10 minutes.

Lefty Lucy on Tuesday

Tuesday nights mean Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine. She has been posing now for months and unless you want to tip her (which I always do through PayPal) the sessions are free. I love to see what she will be wearing each week. This week she said she was a Space Queen...okay...

The top row were 5 minute sketches. The one with added color was a 10 minute sketch.

The top two sketches were 10 minute sketches and the last one was 20 minutes.

Lefty Lucy Returns

Last night was a fun night with Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine. I'm not sure if she was dressed as a "pirate" which is what I thought she said, but her costume was great anyway. She is always fun to sketch and she does this for free. Last week some students from an art class joined in.

5 and 10 minute sketches

10 and 20 minute sketches

Lefty Lucy Quick Sketches

Last night Lefty Lucy posed in costume like Captain America. She starts posing at 7:00. Unfortunately I had another meeting to attend at 8:00. I figured that I'd rater sketch of of the poses than not do any of them at all, so I did the 1, 2, and 5 minute poses and missed out on the longer poses. As you can see I don't always get to finish the sketches on the short poses...especially when I'm trying

I received some sad news today. One of my favorite watercolor artists, Jerry (Gerald) Brommer passed away. I took 3 different week-long workshops with Jerry when I used to go to the Springmaid Watermedia Workshops in Myrtle Beach. He was a talented artist, instructor, author of books on different kinds of art techniques (many of which were staples in art classes), and just a wonderful sweet man with a great sense of humor. He was an excellent teacher and during the time I took the classes I really enjoyed talking to him and learning from him. I am so glad that I purchased one of his paintings at one of the workshops. He and his wife, Georgia (who always came to the resort with him and supplied chocolates for the students) both had been hospitalized with Covid 19 recently. Here is a photo from one of the workshops I took with him. RIP, Jerry and keep your brushes wet!

Inktober 2010 Day 28 - Railroad Crossing & Lefty Lucy

My Day 28 Inktober sketch was done at a railroad crossing locally at Railroad Ave and Coates Ave. It was hard to decide how much of the background to include and not lose the star of the show.

Lefty Lucy posed last night. Not as fancy as last week, but she was fun anyway.

This was a 5 minute pose done in pencil.

These were 10 minute poses.

The final pose was 20 minutes.

Lefty Lucy Veiled & Inktober Day 14

Last night was Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine night. She posed again on Zoom, this time in a beautiful black dress and a veiled headpiece...and a few times with a revolver. As I've said before I never know what to expect.

These are 5 minute poses.

These are 10 minute poses.

This was the final sketch of the night for 20 minutes.

My Day 14 Inktober sketch was done down by Sayville Marina Park. I did this from my mobile studio while it was drizzling.

Tuesday with Lefty Lucy

Today is officially the start of Inktober, but since I am a bit behind in posting you are getting to see Lefty Lucy Costumed in Quarantine instead.

These were 5 minute sketches.

I think these were 10 minute sketches.

Here is the final sketch which was 20 minutes.

I don't usually post the quick sketches, but I did them all on one page. The top ones were 1 minute and the bottom ones were 2 minutes. As you can see, I don't always get the entire figure done. lol
