Last week I took a ride to the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great River. I was looking for cherry trees in bloom, but instead I got sidetracked by this saucer magnolia instead. They always look so fragile and I'm afraid one strong wind will come along and they will fall to pieces.
I was sketching a magnolia blossom the other day, too, and had the same thought. Petals hanging on for dear life! I guess they are almost done.
ReplyDeleteSome of them look like they are at the end and then others look like they're just starting. I can never tell what is happening.
DeleteThese are gorgeous. I need to get to our daughter's and paint hers.
