Downstairs at the National Museum of the American Indian there was a big room with a circle for performances. There was a big screen with a dance video playing. Around the room were glass cases containing mannikins with beautiful outfits used for the Indian dances. I only had enough time to sketch two of them.
The first one was for a Yakama Girl's Fancy Shawl Dance. It had such beautiful designs in the dress and the shawl.
This is for the Tlingit Ku'eex Entrance Dance.
As usual we headed to a nearby restaurant for a show and tell. The sketchers always sketch each other. Here are a few friends that were across the table from me.
Going home on the LIRR I didn't plan to sketch but I couldn't resist this couple curled up and napping.
Great sketches Joan.
