Cold Day at Cedar Beach

They had forecast a mild day the other day and a friend of mine wanted to play hockey from work and go out plein air painting. So we headed to Cedar Beach near Port Jefferson. The temp reached about 45 degrees and we were bundled up in layers, so for the most part we were comfortable for about an hour and a half. This is about 7 x 9.

Here I am all bundled up by the rowboats.

Here is Susan painting.

As much as we thought it was cold, a man and woman came along while we were packing up. The man had on a wetsuit and sandals. The next thing we knew he was swimming in the water. It takes all kinds. lol

  1. You two are a lot hardier than I am! :-) I sketch in my car when the temp is below 50!

  3. I would have sketched from the car if I was alone, Tina, but Susan really wanted to sketch outside.

Hilda, ... and a bathroom nearby. That determined when we were done. lol Thanks.

  4. Brr! I think you are crazy but you got a nice sketch done. Playing hooky should be done when it is warmer - lol

  5. You're right about playing hooky, Val. We did stop for a nice lunch to warm up.
