This was sketched from my car across the street from Little Vincent's in Ronkonkoma. It is a quaint pizza place which according to the signs they have has been voted by readers of the LI Press as the best pizza in Suffolk. I don't know if that is true since I have only had their pizza once. It is too far a drive from my home to get pizza there on a regular basis, but it was a fun place to sketch.
I am presently in route to Myrtle Beach for a watercolor workshop with Ted Nuttal. Here is a link to his website if you want to see his work. http://www.tednuttall.com We have stopped for the night in Emporia, VA and have about 4 1/2 hrs more to drive tomorrow. This is the yearly watercolor trip I do with my sister, Mickey. The class is on painting figures from photographs, so we both had been scrounging around for photos of people. Luckily I take a lot of photos of people...even strangers. Mickey has to rely mostly on family photos even though he said that the first painting should be of someone you don't know. I guess if you work on someone you know you spend too much time trying to get a good likeness. Hopefully I will be able to post photos of the work I do. We meet the instructor tomorrow evening and then the class starts on Monday morning. I'm ready for sunrise walks on the beach every day!!! Yay!
That workshop sounds great! I'll look forward to seeing what you do!
