While we were in town in Ocean Beach we walked around an area that had shops and restaurants. Since there is no eating on the beach (yes, that is the rule in "The Land of No" which is the nickname for Ocean Beach) most people end up in town to buy lunch or snacks. It was fun to capture the buildings and some people there.
We stayed on Fire Island from about 10 am and left on the 3:30 ferry back to Bayshore. The line was already forming when we got to the ferry dock and this woman found a good way to wait for the ferry to pull in....that is until the line got too long and they moved everyone over to another area. When she picked up her beach materials I lost my model, but since I already had it sketched out in pencil it was easy to finish the sketch.
Fun sketches! No eating on the beach??!! Hmmm, that wouldn't fly here. ;-)

I so love towns like the one you've captured here. They have good restaurants and unique shops and galleries. You sure know how to live, Joan!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you not eat at a beach? lol wonderful sketches!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tina. It is strange and it has been that way for many, many years.
ReplyDeleteSherry, thanks. I love to go to different places.
Hilda, LOL You can only drink water from a clear bottle. They have lots of regulations there.
