On Friday Jerry and I headed down towards Washington DC for his nephew's wedding. We left here at 5 am to avoid the rush hour traffic. That put us in the DC area for lunch. I had googled restaurants that served steamed blue claw crabs which the Chesapeak Bay is noted for, and we went to a great one, the Quarterdeck in Alexandria, VA. I did stop and sketch them before I ate even one morsel (such restraint) LOL. Then I finished the sketch while Jerry was finishing the remaining crabs.
Ah, I was wondering when we'd see a sketch of those crabs! Yum!
ReplyDeleteNice! I grew up in Maryland, so this sketch reminds me of home!! Love Alexandria, Virginia, as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on those crabs!
ReplyDeleteAwesome painting, Joan! Unique!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tina! They were so good.
ReplyDeleteSuma, thanks. I wish we had more time to explore the area.
Michele, thanks so much.
Sherry, they were such cooperative models. Thanks.
Joan, I just love it when I can eat the models! You had such self discipline to sketch first. Great job. Applause.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jo. If I hadn't eaten a bowl of clam chowder first I don't know if I could have sketched first. lol
