Last weekend I was at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale for the Wet Paints Member's Show which I was participating in. When the show was over I grabbed my paints and headed to paint something in bloom while I was there. Some of the rhododendrons were in bloom so I did them in watercolors and ink.
Your watercolors and ink paintings are fabulous, Joan.....this rhododendron is beautiful. Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteYou really nailed the shapes of the leaves and blossoms! I love rhodies!
ReplyDeleteLove this simple but oh so beautiful composition, Joan. You always leave me wishing for talent!
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful, it's got a "greetings card" feel about it, a lovely work in ink, as are the garden ink drawings in your previous post. Lovely work Joan!!
ReplyDeleteLove the whimsical lines, just like the blooms. Beautiful b/w sketches below for the brochure! You are so lucky to have access to such great places to sketch flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilda, Tina, Sherry, Kevin, and Celia! I would like to go back and do a closer version of the rhodies.
ReplyDeleteGood rhodie sketch! If you want to sketch some more, come over to my house.
