Happy 2014!!!
Today my friend, Susan, and I went to sketch people at the food court at the Tanger Mall in Riverhead. It was cold outside (very cold) and an indoor location seemed like our best bet.
These were done with my Lamy Safari pens, one filled with a grey waterproof ink and the other with a brown that isn't waterproof. The brown bleeds nicely when you touch it with water.
It was a good sketching opportunity.
Happy New Year, Joan! These are great! I love the girl with the leopard on her head! The food court is always full of interesting people.
ReplyDeleteTina, lol I loved her hat too. Thanks. It was a fun place with characters that would come and go.
ReplyDeletelove the look of the brown ink, Happy New Year Joan
ReplyDeleteOh what delightful sketches, Joan! Each one is fabulous but I really like the gent in the upper left corner of the second piece. Something so wonderful about his face!
ReplyDeleteLorraine - Thank you. It does nice washes.
ReplyDeleteSherry - Thanks! It was fun to try to catch some of the people who came in to eat.
Ooooh! I like the way your washes look with the non-waterproof ink. Great mall sketches, but you are getting soft, Joan. I remember when you were sketching animals at the Van Saun zoo when it was colder than this. LOL!
ReplyDeleteJoan these sketches are great...like the use of the non waterproof ink - gives it a softness. Looks like you are starting your new year out well my friend. Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteMickey - LOL I must be getting old. My stamina for the cold isn't what it used to be. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - Thank you! Maybe I'll get to paint the snow tomorrow.
These are great Joan. I love pen and wash and it works so well here .
