Last Tuesday night I went to the Wet Paints Studio Group sketch night in Sayville. Twice a month they have a model pose for the artists that show up. Maria was our model. The model poses for 20 minutes and then takes a 10 minute break. That is repeated 3 times. Some people do 3 different sketches, but since she is in the same pose I continued working on the same painting. This is 5 x 7.
Love this portrait Joan! Also love "Autumn Corner!"
ReplyDeletePretty soon "Winter Wonderland!"
Michael
The shading on her face is so delicate, it looks almost like pastels! I'm amazed that you can do this with watercolor, Joan -- you're a master!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifully and sensitively painted. You must be pleased with this one
ReplyDeleteShe is so pretty! Great job on the lips, Joan.
ReplyDeleteGreat job especially considering the in the moment approach.
ReplyDeleteJoan - this is so good. I love the fact that the color tones in the skin as well as the dress were rose colors...her dark hair color couldn't be more perfect. Thank you for sharing as always.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out very well.
ReplyDeleteExcellent portrait, Joan! You do very nice work with live models!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Michael, Tina, Polly, Sherry, Laura, Debbie, Eileen, and Hilda!
ReplyDeleteI missed this. It's wonderful, you are so talented. To do this in water colors live is amazing.
