The autumn foliage here on Long Island has been gorgeous. I found this view when I was driving around the east end on Sunday. There was a field of cabbages, some dried stalks from corn, and those wonderful trees. This is 5 x 7.
Sherry - Long Island at one time was mostly potato farms out east. There are a lot of family run farms and organic farms tucked among the wineries that have sprung up. However a lot of the land has been turned into housing developments too. Thanks for your comment.
As usual it's lovely! Looks like that around here to. Such a pretty time of year.
ReplyDeleteI love a white house surrounded by colorful autumn trees. Nice little painting.
ReplyDeleteAnother charming sketch Joan. I love the red tree amongst the green, one of nature's greatest contrasts!!
ReplyDeleteI told someone I could probably spend a month out there painting each house as the light hits it. Thanks Cris, Mickey and Kevin.
ReplyDeleteThe colors set off the white house beautifully, lovely work!
ReplyDeleteOh such a beautiful autumn scene! I never knew Long Island had country places.
ReplyDeleteCelia - Thank you!

Gorgeous Joan - this farmhouse and landscape remind me of our countryside right now. Hope you are having a great day.
ReplyDeleteLove the rich colours Joan, a lovely scene
ReplyDeleteDebbie - Thanks. The farmhouses look so great against the background of colorful trees.
