On Wednesday the Patchogue Sketch Club went to Bowl Long Island for an indoor sketching session. With the weather getting cold and the fact that it is dark by the time we meet, we have to find indoor places. We have sketched here in the past, and there is always a lot of activity.
I sketched one of the bowlers.
Then I sketched a few people waiting to bowl or waiting and watching the bowlers.
Grrr, I hate it that it's so dark now. I really like your bowlers. Makes me always remember how awful I am at bowling.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these action sketches, Joan! and I really get testy now that it gets dark faster ...and its getting too cold!! Not happy!! lol
ReplyDeleteIt's always a pleasure to visit your blog. One of the reasons for this is that there is absolutely no subject on Earth you wont tackle, it's so refreshing! Great, spontaneous sketches!
ReplyDeleteFun sketches! And a great idea for winter sketching.
ReplyDeletePeople in action are a challenge. This is proof: practice makes perfect!! Great sketches! This is a nice idea too.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome are these? I have some decent shots of my daughters and grandkids bowling and I love the perspective. The figures I find scare me so I haven't made that effort.
ReplyDeleteCarol - Thanks. LOL I have a bowling trophy from hight school. We were so bad that we had such a high handicap that we got trophies. lol I was terrible.
ReplyDeleteHilda - It does get dark too early which makes me eager to get out earlier in the day. Thanks.
Kevin - You are right, I will sketch almost anything. lol Thanks!
Iina - It is a good spot in the cold weather. Thank you.
Celia - Thanks. I really had to study the people who were actually bowling.
Sherry - You should try drawing them. It has to be easier from a photo and you probably don't have the faces showing. Thanks.
I love your bowling sketches. They look like so much fun.
