Ralph's Italian Ices
The other night my friend, Susan, wanted to paint Ralph's Italian Ices in Patchogue. I'm always up for painting something colorful. The stand in the back of a parking lot with spaces facing in right in front of it. We put our chairs in the space for the best view, and then I parked my car right behind our chairs so nobody would come zipping into the space and run us over. It worked perfectly! This is 4 x 6.

Susan's Poppies
Yesterday morning my friend, Susan, invited me over to paint the poppies in her garden in Patchogue. They were just beautiful with some of their heads facing the sun and some bashful and shy facing downward. The colors were just wonderful!!! Her garden has so manyinteresting spots to paint. If I lived there I would be outside all day painting. Many, many thanks for sharing your treasured spot and your company with me, Susan.

Boat on the Grass & Spring Greens
On Wednesdays the Patchogue Sketch Club meets at a location near us. This week we went to the Maritime Museum in Sayville. It had been raining on and off all day, but I knew there were spots to paint where you could sit in your car. I got there about 4:30 and started the painting of the boat. By 5:00 it was raining so hard that it looked like a monsoon. My friend, Susan, pulled up in her van, but it was raining too hard to switch vehicles. By the time I finished the boat the rain had let up a bit and I joined Susan in her van. She was facing an area that is part of the golf course, so I did a second painting.

Vanderzalm Greenhouse
My PALS plein air group met yesterday to paint. Luckily Jean Salucci picked a spot that offered indoor painting, because it was pouring outside. Vanderzalm Greenhouses in Bellport had a number of colorful buildings to paint in. This was my favorite. This painting is 8 x 10.
