Trip to Maine

This page of sketches continues my trip on the ferry. The models don't always stay put.
The painting below was done on one of my early morning walks. I headed out with a postcard sized block and my pen in my fanny pack. This was done directly in pen for my 75 day challenge. I added the color when I got back from my walk.

  1. Love New Castle Square, Joan!! Excellent watercolor! I tried sketching while watching T.V....I realize now that its not easy...especially since the people are constantly moving.! I give you a lot of credit for what you do...

  2. I have no idea why but the back of the heads just tickles me. Wonderful job, Joan. And the outside of Newcastle Square is so beautifully done!

  3. Hilda - Thanks. Like anything it takes practice.

    Carol - Thank you.

Sherry - Thanks. It is easier to do the backs of heads so people don't think I'm staring at them. lol

  4. Wow there are all those windows that give me so much grief and which you make look so easy. Your 'fanny pack' phrase made me smile as I'm pretty sure it's what we call in the UK a 'bum bag'. Oh how course we are in the UK!!! :-o lol
