My plein air group went to a sunflower field last week. I found that if I worked standing up at an easel instead of sitting down like I usually do, I got a better view. This is 8 x 10.
Oh my plein air guru, I just love your pearls of wisdom and I drink them all up. I'll have to remember this one in future. It would definitely alter the feel of a painting viewing it from higher. Gosh these are a lot of fabulous sun flowers. Not sure I'd have the patience. I'd end up doing one maybe. That's one of the reasons I'm no good at plein air maybe. lol :-)
Love these last two fields of flowers! You capture both the shape of individual flowers as well as the whole field!

ReplyDeleteTina - I never am sure how much to include. lol Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSherry - It was hard to find fields that weren't already well past their prime because the warm weather started so early. Thanks so much.
Laura - Thanks. I learned that painting the lavender this year. If you sit down you can't get a good view.
Carol - Thank you!
I love the sunflower field.
